I’ve been in rooms with some incredibly successful entrepreneurs over the past few years… Whenever I have a chance to connect with people who have already achieved results and success that I want to achieve, I use it as an opportunity to observe how they operate.
But I’m not looking at what you might think I’m looking at…
I’m not hyper-focused on the action steps they took to achieve success. I’m far more interested in their mindset, beliefs, and habits! Success is just as much about who we BECOME in the process as it is about what we DO to get there.
#1 They take action faster and less perfectly, and they are willing to fail forward.
The most successful entrepreneurs don’t wait until they feel 100% “ready”. Or until the idea is perfectly polished to take step 1.
And here’s the crazy thing…by putting a less perfect first version of their big ideas out there faster, they also get valuable feedback faster that helps them continually refine the ideas as they go.
#2 They invest in the person they want to be and the business they want to have a year from now (instead of investing based on what feels comfortable right now).
The most successful leaders are learners, and if they can accelerate their learning curve by studying someone else who has achieved what they want to achieve, they invest in that knowledge knowing the return on that investment will be 10X more than if they had tried to figure it out on their own.
#3 (…and this one might surprise you!) They still experience fear, doubt, and imposter syndrome.
You don’t reach a certain level of success and miraculously free yourself from ever feeling fear or doubt ever again. In fact, the opposite is true–the resistance you experience when pursuing big ideas actually GROWS as your dreams grow…but when you continue to take action in spite of fear, YOU also grow into the kind of person who can totally handle the resistance.
YOU are completely capable of creating the same kind of success, if you want to.
Anyone who you currently look up to in business (or life) has been in your shoes. At one point they made the decision to create a different future for themselves.
YOU can make that decision too and start working toward making your dreams a reality. The best part is, you never have to do it alone!
