3 Tips to Overcome Imposter Syndrome

I have gotten a ton of feedback from our community lately that imposter syndrome is one of the biggest things standing in the way of making the impact they know they’re meant to make. 

Have you felt like you aren’t enough, or aren’t qualified to pursue that big idea? You are SO not alone! 

I’m going to let you in on a little secret… I ALWAYS feel a little bit like an imposter when I’m pursuing something new. Always. BUT there are a few things that have helped me push past all of the feelings. 

How to Deal With Imposter Syndrome

• Community – surrounding myself with others who are doing the kinds of things I want to be doing. People who are working through the discomfort that comes with pursuing their big ideas helps inspire us and reminds us that we are not alone in feeling this way! 

• Accountability – For me, nothing holds me accountable like investing in myself. I have said it many times but when you pay, you pay attention. My mentor holds me accountable to the things I say I am going to do and it forces me to show up even on the days when imposter syndrome starts to steal the show. 

• Action – your big ideas help no one until they are put into action. The more action you take, the more results you see which helps remind our subconscious minds that we are capable! 

It’s important to understand that imposter syndrome is really just noticing the gap between who you are now, and the person you will become in the process of pursuing your big ideas. If you already were that person, you’d already have that result, and there would be no need to GROW.

If you wait until you feel ready, or completely confident, or like you’re NOT an imposter…you’ll definitely miss the opportunity to serve some of the people you’re meant to serve.
