Ever wondered why growth feels so uncomfortable?
I don’t know about you, but for me this current season is one of change. Mostly positive change, but change nonetheless.
It’s like I’m shedding an old identity and stepping into a new one…which can feel uncomfortable, confronting, and uncertain.
If you’re feeling any of these same feelings too, you’re so not alone.
Feeling uncertain is actually a prerequisite to expansion, because as you evolve you’re literally stepping into the unknown. You’ve never been this new version of yourself before, so how could you possibly know what to expect?
I wanted to share something with you that has been helping me lean fully into the challenging parts of growth:
The resistance often feels the strongest when you’re getting dangerously close to your next breakthrough.
It’s no different than when you’re in an airplane and the pressure builds up in your ears as you climb to a higher altitude.
As you ascend higher, air pressure starts to build within your ear, and that pressure feels the greatest (maybe even a bit uncomfortable) right before you eventually feel that little *pop* and the air pressure equalizes.
That *pop* symbolizes a breakthrough, allowing you to feel comfortable being at a higher altitude, and be able to handle more pressure.
The same is true for your personal growth. To “ascend higher” in your business or life, it might take a while for you to adjust to the pressure or resistance that your next level will bring.
But remember, the resistance will likely feel the strongest when you’re getting dangerously close to your next breakthrough.
So if you’re IN IT, now is not the time to take your foot off the gas.
