When you have a BIG vision, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed looking at the whole picture. Can anyone else relate? Try these four steps the next time you feel overwhelmed, to help you keep making progress! ⠀
️⃣ Brain dump all of the pieces of the vision that are floating around in your brain. You can use a word doc, white board, or giant sheet of paper. We usually feel “overwhelmed” because we’re worried about something slipping through the cracks. Writing it down gives your mind permission to stop stressing and know you won’t forget anything.
️⃣ Ask yourself “from this list, what can I accomplish TODAY? What’s my next step to move the vision forward?” Of course it feels overwhelming to look at the BIG vision. But the way to bring a big vision to life is by tackling one small vision at a time.
️⃣ Pick ONE thing that you can definitely accomplish that day (no matter how small) and schedule the time in your calendar when I’m going to accomplish it. A to-do list without designated time to DO the things is a definite recipe for overwhelm, and giving yourself a mini-win by checking things off your list shows your kind that you ARE making progress.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
️⃣ Ask yourself “where can I ask for help?” Overwhelm is usually perpetuated by the fact that we’re not asking for (or allowing) help. Whether it’s delegating household tasks or hiring out the things that aren’t your Zone of genius in business, if your vision is as big as we know it is, you were never supposed to do it all alone!
