If true confidence comes from keeping the promises you make to yourself… Then it would make sense that the fastest way to sabotage your confidence and momentum is by NOT keeping those same promises, right?
But here’s the thing…I bet you rarely wake up and say to yourself, “I’m not going to keep my word today!”
If you’re anything like me, you probably get more creative with the ways that you let yourself off the hook, something I lovingly refer to as the “cute quit.”
Instead of admitting that you’re uncomfortable, bumping into major imposter syndrome, or fearful that you won’t succeed, the “cute quit” sounds more like:
“I’m giving myself grace”
“This isn’t aligned right now”
“I’m so overwhelmed…I’ll take action later”
Does any of this sound familiar?
Don’t get me wrong, there ARE times when the above statements are true. Sometimes you really need to give yourself grace… As soon as I was willing to get honest with myself about why I wasn’t moving toward my dreams the truth was that I was hiding behind these excuses.
If you feel personally attacked by today’s message 🤣 I highly recommend checking out this recent podcast episode! EP323: The Art Of The “Cute Quit” And Why It’s Chipping Away At Your Confidence
